Gymkhana events are timed speed events that include cloverleaf (barrels) ,dash, keyhole, pole bending, Scurry bleeding heart, cats cradle and straight barrels.

All of these events are designed to display precise, controlled actions and tight teamwork between horse and rider at speed.  There are up to 5 divisions, allowing riders of all levels to have an opportunity to learn, excel, grow and win.

The Connecticut Gymkhana Association, Inc. (CGA) is a Non-Profit 501c family oriented riding organization. The organization is open to all ages and all equine breeds. Western as well as English riders are welcome. The CGA promotes fun filled competition and strives to educate its members in areas of equine care, safety in horsemanship, and good sportsmanship. Come join the fun and camaraderie! The CGA holds up to ten horse shows each year.  Each full day gymkhana show is scored in a 4/5D format depending on turnout.  Results are tallied throughout the season with daily winners (by division) as well as overall winners for the season.  Don’t have a horse but still want to ride, contact us and we can help you find a barn to work with.
